Frequently Asked Technical Questions

Please reach out to us at technical@powermasterny.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Required safety devices can differ based on whether you have a door operator or a gate operator.

For a door operator you are required to have at least one pulse safety monitored device.

For a swinging or slide gate operator you are required to have one pulse or 10k monitored device for your closing safety and one pulse or 10k monitored device for your opening safety.

PowerMaster door operators equipped with a Turbo control board require a pulse-style, 2-frequency monitored safety device as the primary monitored safety device.

The operator can support up to three monitored safety devices total. The additional safety devices can be either 10K monitored devices or pulse-style monitored devices.

PowerMaster gate operators equipped with a Nitro control board require two 10K monitored safety devices: one for the open direction and one for the close direction.

An additional 10K monitored safety device can also be added for either the open or close direction. The additional safety input can be enabled or disabled through the operator's programming settings.

Setting up auto-close can differ based on which board you have.

Turbo board:

1. Run the door/gate to the fully closed position

2. Press the AUTO CLOSE push button to add 5 seconds to the timer.

3. Set the operation mode to T or TS depending on desired application

Reset: While the door is fully closed, hold the AUTO CLOSE push button for 3 seconds to reset timer to OFF.

Nitro board:

1. When the pointer is at AUTO CLOSE TIME press the ENTER button.

2. By pressing the UP and DOWN buttons set the adjusted time for the auto close timer.

3. Once the desired time is set press the ENTER button.

NOTE: 0MIN 00SEC is OFF. The auto close time specifies the time it will take until a gate or door automatically closes after it has triggered the open limit.

This may be caused by an improperly adjusted limit nut.

To adjust the limit:

  • Push back the metal retaining bracket to relieve pressure on the plastic limit nut.
  • Rotate the limit nut toward the limit switch to reduce travel.
  • Rotate the limit nut away from the limit switch to increase travel.
  • Release the retaining bracket and test the operator.
  • Make small adjustments and test the operator after each adjustment to achieve the desired fully open or closed position.

Electrical requirements may vary based on which door or gate operator you select.
